U.S. Martin Luther King Jr being attacked as he marched nonviolently for the Chicago Freedom Movement, 1966, which was the most ambitious civil rights campaign in the North of the United States, and lasted from mid-1965 to early 1967.
If only he’d been well-spoken, pulled his pants up and didn’t wear a hoodie… oop… wait…
Please really look at this. Look at how many men are on him. Look at how you can see he is not attacking anyone. Look at how he is dressed. Imagine the fear he has that this moment may have been his last. Remember that he was assassinated by forces within the U.S. gov’t because of his mission. Before you pull that string on that MLK Jr. watered-down quote teddy, look at this, look at what’s happening today, and really fucking think.
"Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is protected by supporters after being hit with a stone during a housing march in what was then the all-white Marquette Park neighborhood on Chicago’s Southwest Side. King marched to protest housing segregation and inadequate housing for minorities. "I have seen many demonstrations in the South, but I have never seen anything so hostile and so hateful as I’ve seen here (in Marquette Park) today," King said. — Chicago Tribune historical photo, Aug. 5, 1966"
HEY LOOK, MORE IDIOTS TAKING PHOTOS OUT OF CONTEXT!
These men were PROTECTING Rev. King, not attacking him.
Someone outside the pic was the scumbag attacking him, jesus fucking asscrackers, tumblr.
OP is a fuckwit.
Things like this have me worried for our country’s future. How can we go forward honestly and with honor if we do not know history and do not present it in an honest light?
It seems too many people are more worried about short-term political gains by inciting social tensions than worried about being honest and learning the valuable lessons our forefathers already paid for in blood for us.
God people are stupid….
This is like that picture of those two white dudes rescuing that black dude. And people are always saying they where attacking him. Fucktards.
As the days go by, I’m getting sadder and sadder. What is wrong with me?
Battle of Takur Ghar (Rescue on Roberts Ridge) - in part of Operation Anaconda
On March 4-5th 2002, during Operation Anaconda, a combat operation that became a rescue mission to retrieve CPO1 Neil C. Roberts after falling off a damaged Chinook. Inspiring! Open carry demonstrators protest police violence in Dallas. Members of the Huey P. Newton Gun Club march through the streets of South Dallas in protest of police violence in their community. I am sure liberals would accuse these folks of being white racists. Always remember, gun control is racist.
Spread the word! #BlackOpenCarry
It helped in Nevada. The BLM backed down because all of America was watching to see who would slip up first. Rather than bringing in riot police against armed protestors in Nevada, the Federal government instead backed off.
That may not always be the case, but when your civil liberties are on the line, peaceful disobedience is necessary if it means the protection of your community and everyone’s rights.
I can’t even express how happy these images make me.
I love seeing people stand up for themselves. More power to them.
This is the woman whose claimed she got PTSD over twitter
let this sink in for a moment
Put your best friend in a body bag, and have to face his widow when you come home. Then talk about PTSD you slag.
Yes, the guy in my home town who had to hide under the corpses of his comrades while a larger Iraqi Army unit hung out in the area for a week during the Gulf War needs to educate himself.
